Letters from the Community

“He is a champion for all Tosa students and families, not just some”

I am a mother of a 4th grader and a 7th grader who attend schools in the Wauwatosa School District. As an educator with over 20 years of experience, I currently teach kindergarten at Jefferson—an elementary school I attended as a student. I have had the privilege of attending elementary, middle, and high school in the district, which has greatly influenced my decision to continue my career here.

After leaving my teaching position in the previous school district, I chose to return to Wauwatosa because I am committed to making a positive impact within my community. I believe that Chris Bauer believes in making that same positive impact in his community as well. That is why I strongly support Chris Bauer for the School Board Seat 2.

Chris’s involvement in our community speaks to his dedication. His volunteer work with his child’s PTA, the Wauwatosa PTA Council, and the Yes to Tosa Kids campaign showcases his commitment to public education. Additionally, his endorsement by Support Our Schools (SOS) Wauwatosa underscores his alignment with our shared goals for improving local schools.

Chris is a staunch advocate for securing adequate state funding for public schools. His background in financial planning is invaluable, as his expertise will be an asset to the school board, especially in these times when financial decisions must be made with careful consideration of both short-term and long-term impacts.

He is a champion for all Tosa students and families, not just some. Chris will focus on addressing school funding challenges, especially in light of the inflationary pressures affecting our district. His experience working collaboratively with others, alongside his respect for diverse backgrounds, will ensure that he brings thoughtful, inclusive solutions to the table.

Chris values the importance of a well-rounded education, supporting not only academics but also the arts, sports, clubs, music, theatre, and technology programs. His willingness to be a problem-solver, combined with his hard work and transparency, makes him the right candidate to help navigate the challenges our district faces. I am confident that Chris Bauer will work tirelessly to improve the Wauwatosa School District and make decisions that benefit all of our students, teachers, and staff.

Chris has my full support, and I believe he will continue to move Wauwatosa Public Schools in a positive direction. His dedication as both a parent and active community member makes him an invaluable asset to our school board.

Throughout our time working together as PTA leaders, Chris Bauer has demonstrated an exceptional ability to think critically and problem-solve in the face of adversity. Whether it’s working to secure additional funding, advocating for more efficient use of resources, or addressing administrative concerns with a focus on positive change, he has consistently shown a remarkable capacity for leading in tough circumstances.

One of Chris’s greatest strengths is his ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders. This is particularly crucial in times of budget cuts, when tough decisions must be made that can impact staff, students, and families. He has always been able to listen with empathy, offer solutions that balance competing priorities, and ensure that decisions are made in the best interest of students while also promoting fiscal responsibility.

Moreover, Chris understands the need for transparency and accountability in school administration. His willingness to roll up his sleeves and work collaboratively with others makes him an ideal candidate to bring about the necessary changes to improve the quality of education in our district.

Given the current state of our school district, we need someone who is not afraid to tackle difficult issues head-on, someone who possesses both the vision to make long-term improvements and the practical skills to manage resources and administration effectively. I believe Chris Bauer has the skills, experience, and integrity to not only address the current challenges but to drive meaningful change for the betterment of our schools

“One of Chris’s greatest strengths is his ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders.”

“He consistently demonstrated a willingness to volunteer, listen, educate himself, and step in when action was necessary.”

During Chris’s tenure as PTA president, we worked together on various initiatives, activities, and projects. What impressed me most about Chris is his commitment to improving our public schools through his advocacy for increasing public education funding. He has spent years educating himself on public education issues and took part in the Community leadership academy to further improve his understanding of the issues facing our education community.

Due largely in part to his willingness to treat everyone equally and with respect, showing up for both small and large initiatives, and his unique ability to identify key strengths of individuals within our community, during his tenure as PTA President for Eisenhower Elementary from 2021-2024 PTA enrollments increased by 190%. Through his term he consistently demonstrated a willingness to volunteer, listen, educate himself, and step in when action was necessary. He demonstrates a strong commitment to the Wauwatosa community holding various volunteer leadership positions that all directly support the Wauwatosa School district. Chris has my vote!

Chris Bauer is an ideal candidate because of his work ethic and passion for doing his all for the community.

As president of the Eisenhower PTA, he worked tirelessly to revive the group and do everything he could to work with school leaders and support teachers, especially during a year with a high turnover rate for educators within our school. Chris listens, and that is a trait many people don’t possess. He went above and beyond, working weekends and nights on PTA administration, both at our school and on the district level. He also organized parents to attend and speak at school board meetings so our needs and message was heard. As if that wasn’t enough, he was a champion and board member for the Yes to Tosa Kids initiative. Without his work and persistence, the referendum that will help kids and schools may not have succeeded. Plus, he is a genuine person who is a pleasure to know.

As an educator myself, I wish all parents and community members were as inspired and driven for results as Chris Bauer.
